Over the last weekend gone by, many in the industry were surprised when news started floating around Arjun Kapoor being signed for Punit Malhotra's GUTKA. While till a couple of months back it was widely believed that Emraan Hashmi was all but finalised to be sharing screen space with Akshay Kumar for the film, the latest development caught quite a few unaware.


Akshay Kumar’s first film with Karan Johar has been titled as Gutka. It has been confiemd that Kareen Kapoor will be working as the leading lady in this film. The film also star Emraan Hashmi together with Akshay Kumar as a leading actor.

Akshay-Kareena have done many films together. Their last movie was Kambakth Ishq which was an average film.

But it will be the first time when the serial kisser of bollywood Emraan Hashmi & Kareena Kapoor will be working in the same movie.

The film will go on the floors by the end of this year or in early 2014.

 Now, now don't be shocked at this.... At a time when filmmakers come up with weird titles for their movies, Karan Johar is also going out of his way to grab attention towards his film.

While it's no news that Akshay Kumar has been roped in Karan's forthcoming production, to be helmed by Punit Malhotra, latest development is that the film has been titled as 'Gutka'. Sounds amusing, na?

Well, story goes that the title was in fact was with Madhur Bhandarkar earlier. It was only after Karan requested for it with Bhandarkar, did the latter quite willingly agreed to part with it.

Currently the 'I Hate Luv Storys' famed director is busy with 'Gori Tere Pyaar Mein',  after wrapping which he will start on with 'Gutka'.
