It has been quite some time now that we hear of Bradley Cooper almost on a regular basis, either dropping out of a project or signing a new film. But now something new and exciting has emerged that the actor, who recently signed up for a Steven Spielberg film, is looking forward to improve his cooking skills. That too for another new film in his kitty, Chef which requires him to cook like a Paris chef.

In the movie Cooper will be playing a Paris chef named Adam Jones who used to enjoy a potential career before being hindered by controlled substances. After recovering from the career-perils, he will be returning to Paris to start his own first-class restaurant. Chef to be directed by John Wells and scripted by Steven Knight will be one of the 2014 releases from Cooper. It will be produced by 3 Arts’ Erwin Stoff and Double Feature Films’ Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher. The Weinstein Company, which will be releasing Wells’ current project, August: Osage County, will release this Cooper film.

After completing David O. Russell’s American Hustle opposite Jennifer Lawrence, Cooper will get engaged in the promotional campaigns of The Hangover Part III. Following that he is supposed to start

his next project an untitled comedy by Cameron Crowe opposite Emma Stone and then he will begin shooting for Spielberg’s American Sniper in early 2014, as reported earlier. Chef will start only when Cooper gets free from all his previous commitments. He has already stepped out of Jane Got a Gun and probably due to his heavy schedule the revival of The Elephant Man in Broadway will get postponed.

IT has all the ingredients of a Hollywood blockbuster - the rise to culinary stardom of chef Marco Pierre White from a childhood racked by poverty and tragedy.

He might be known as the youngest chef to win three Michelin stars at the age 33 and the man who taught Gordon Ramsay to cook, but his rags to riches story is what has film bosses licking their lips.

White, co-host of Channel 10's MasterChef: The Professionals with Matt Preston, is talking with director Jordan Scott - daughter of Hollywood heavyweight Ridley - about a movie script based on his book White Heat.

It's understood Scott's UK film house, Scott Free Productions, wants to document White's phenomenal rise from teenage apprentice in Leeds, northern England, to become the king of international cooking.

One of four sons, White was only six when his mother Maria died of a brain haemorrhage aged 38, two days after giving birth to her last child.

Life on a council estate in East Leeds got even harder.

After leaving Allerton High School without any qualifications, White packed his bags and left home with only just seven pounds to his name and got his first start at the Hotel St George in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.

A Channel 10 spokesman confirmed discussions were believed to be under way, though an official confirmation is yet to be received from London, where White is visiting - having fulfilled his MasterChef obligations.

"It's obviously really exciting and Marco is thrilled," said a film insider, who added that the idea for a film based on White Heat has swirled since the book's release 23 years ago.

"His book really set the tone for the whole celebrity chef era.

"It was one of the most influential books on cooking ever released and made him a huge presence on the international food scene."

Having developed a cult following, White Heat is now in limited release and commands hundreds of dollars per copy on eBay and online second-hand book stores.

The project, listed in a Weinstein brochure as Untitled Chef Project, stars Cooper as a bad-boy rock star chef, who is determined to open a Paris restaurant and get his third Michelin star. But he must deal with a dark past, including a former drug dealer who is looking for payback.

The movie is written by Steven Knight (Eastern Promises). It follows a chef who, after losing his job, decides to open a food truck business. The producers are Knight, Erwin Stoff, Michael Shamberg (Garden State, Erin Brokovich) and Stacey Sher (Django Unchained, Erin Brokovich).

News of the cease-and-desist letter came after Aldamisa added extra spice to its package ahead of the start of Cannes, bringing in Scarlett Johansson to star opposite her Iron Man 2 director Favreau, who also is writing the project. Other stars set for the feature include Robert Downey Jr., Sofia Vergara, John Leguizamo and Bobby Cannavale.

Aldamisa, which is shopping the comedy at the Cannes Film Market that officially got underway Thursday, could not immediately be reached for comment. Aldamisa is financing along with Kilburn Media and Mark Manuel. Production is set to begin July 8 in Los Angeles. CAA packaged the deal and will handle U.S. distribution rights.
